Kobe Bryant is often criticized for mimicking Michael Jordan too often, and truthfully, he does handle himself like Mike in various ways. The ultimate competitor in sports, Jordan never quite let go of old grudges. We've all heard about MJ getting passed over for a spot on his high school varsity team as a sophomore at Laney High - and if you didn't, he made sure to throw a jab or two in the direction of old coach Pop Herring during his Hall of Fame Basketball speech. In similar fashion, Kobe and the Nike Basketball send out a yearly reminder to Charlotte and the old Hornets brass that he was wearing purple and teal during his first moments as an NBA pro, not purple and gold.

Tomorrow, Kobe's Zoom Kobe VI will be released in the always-popular "Draft Day" colorway. This year's shoe features a white snake-textured polyurethane upper with Charlotte's old purple and teal (photo blue on this pair) accenting the look. Black fills in the tongue and heel, while a white rubber outsole completes the look below.

The Foamposite Pro family will grow by one in July when this "Retro" colorways his retailers across the world. Already the recipient of some "South Beach" pink lace swapping, this colorway features a frosty light blue foam shell with standard black nubuck running along the eyestay and midfoot. The large Swoosh on the side panel is also done in black, while the same logo is embroidered in white on the forefoot and retro on the heel. Adding the finishing touch below is an icy blue-tinted translucent outsole.

Nike LeBron 8 V2 Low “Sprite” Treasure Blue/Volt–White

Though we have yet to receive a release date for the LeBron 8 V2 Lows, the model has already become a bit of a legend around some sneaker circles. The treasure blue upper nearly pops off of the silhouette, and it is enhanced by the presence of volt on the liner, outsole, and outline of the Nike Swoosh. Keeping things on the bright side, we have a white midsole and the interior of the Nike Swoosh is also white. Supra Skytop II “Flag Pack “

Last week we showed the Supra Skytop II “Flag Pack ” which contained a Red/White/Blue version and a monochrome version. Today, word has hit the wire that the Black Flag or monochrome version of the Skytop II will be select store shelves on Saturday, May 28. The model is based in a black leather upper that breaks into black and white leather stripes on the side panel. The heel and ankle have been updated to include a print of the American flag, though the star has ben replaced with an “X”.

Air Jordan 5 Black/Metallic Silver 2011 – New Images

Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 5 Retro in Black/Metallic Silver-Fire Red in 2007, and now they have decided to bring the shoe back. Last month, we posted images of the 2011 Retro, but many were not impressed with the previous set of photos. Since then, new images have hit the web and is now available your viewing pleasure. Air Jordan Retro 11 Low IE - Black/Varsity Red-White - Detailed Images

Unlike the new Air Jordan Retro 11 Low IE colorway we showed you earlier, this pair was part of the original lineup back in 1996. With that comes a pre-existing set of expectations, all which seem to have been met according to the sneaker community's reaction to preview images that have surfaced.

This pair sports an upper of tumbled black leather with a tonal elephant print leather overlay randy. Varsity red works the inner liner and tongue branding, while white cuts through along the midsole. Finishing off the look below is a smoked out translucent outsole.

The original Air Jordan Retro 11 Low IE is penciled in for a July 16th release.

This colorway of the Air Jordan Retro 11 Low IE wasn't part of the original run, but it has received a lot of praise since first being unveiled earlier this month. Drawing a ton of comparisons to the "Concord" Mid, the shoe features a tumbled white leather upper with black working an elephant print leather overlay and the inner liner. Metallic silver takes care of branding on the tongue, while the shoe is finished of with a blue-tinted translucent outsole.

Look for this colorway of the 11 Low IE to hit retail sometime in August.
